The first three artists for the acoustic stage at Burning Lantern have been revealed, headlining the stage will be Zervas & Pepper, The Gentle Good and Kizzy Crawford on August the 12th.

Zervas and Pepper are a songwrighting partnership that has been crafting songs and capturing imaginations for a decade. With three previous critcally acclaimed albums behind them 2017 brings a fresh offering. 'Wilderland' was written in a cabin in the Colorado Rockies, taking refuse from a troubled world the songwriters underwent the process of writing 12 songs that would be infused by the nature around them and the happenings of outside world. Recording started in LA with James Raymond (Crosby, Stills and Nash/Crosby, Pevar, Raymond/CROZ) with James co-producing and performing on part of the album. Recording then resumed with long time band and engineer Llion Robertson in Mid Wales.

The Gentle Good is the stage name of Cardiff based songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Gareth Bonello. Influenced by the traditional music and folklore of Wales along with a myriad of sources from further afield, Gareth creates timeless folk music in both English and Welsh. Best known for his intricate guitar playing and haunting vocals, Gareth has enchanted audiences all over the world; from top UK festivals such as Glastonbury and The Green Man to car parks and bars in Texas to the Forbidden City Concert Hall in Beijing. International collaboration is a strong feature of Gareth’s work and he has written and performed with artists on all continents bar Antarctica.

Merthyr Tydfil’s Kizzy Crawford has achieved a lot already. every once in a long while, an artist of such natural, effortless musicality and poise emerges, that those of us who work day in, day out at the coalface, seeking new and interesting music-makers, just have to stand back and salute the heavens. she won the arts connect original singer-songwriter prize in 2012. she has performed live in front of hundreds of thousands on welsh t.v., played at womex when it was hosted in cardiff in 2013, and released a critically lauded debut e.p., ‘the starling’, that became a mainstay of the bbc radio wales and bbc radio cymru playlists.

Kizzy’s prodigious songwriting ability naturally fuses disparate genres (folk / soul / jazz) and brings something genuine, fresh and exciting to the musical landscape. think joan armatrading sings john martyn, but then think again, because no simple soundbite can sum up kizzy’s music.
